2025 is a reappraisal year for Davidson County, which means properties in the county are being reassessed.
This process happens every four years and plays a big role in how your property taxes are calculated for the upcoming year.
Property taxes are intensely local, but more than 72% of metropolitan areas with at least 200,000 residents saw above-average increases in property-tax bills last year.
It is important to make a distinction between the Assessed Value and Market Value for your property. Assessed Value is what the government thinks your house is worth and that number is used to calculate property taxes. Market Value is what the average buyer thinks your home is worth and what your home would likely sell for based on current demand.
